Here is the dirt on Hershey !
So many people are asking about the mound of dirt at the corner of Chocolate and Cocoa avenue. They say it is unsightly, disruptive " Mount Hershey" among other things. Well here is the inside scoop. That dirt is the dirt from the tunnel that is going under the road. The awesome cool tunnel that will connect the North to the South, bring us all together to get across the street safely. Only in Hershey. Imagine If we could figure out a way to unite the East and West shores, now that would be a sliced bread moment. But no this is economical , why crate away the dirt when it is going to be needed in a year anyway. Actually when the news interviewed me and wanted the " dirt" I would not shovel it . It is progress. The intersections in town were done first, the lanes expanded so you can get through town much faster now! We are in the birth of a revolution, finally Hershey will have a downtown, it may take 5-10 more years but , hey we have been waiting for over 59 years already. I just look back when I bought fenicci's there was no museum, no Houlihans, no Devon's, no CHocolate Avenue Grill and no new 27 million dollar roller coaster. Thank you Hershey, Tim and Jessica and all those involved who have the vision to know that before a harvest the ground always looks Barron and dull, and hey if the dirt is there in December I say we teachnourbkids to ski!! Remember it is the most important corner in town, Chocolate and Cocoa and no one is forgetting that, picture an amphitheater, a park, a playground and all of the things Mr Hershey would have wanted.
