The kids are heading back to school, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had this summer.
Labor Day weekend in Harrisburg always means Kipona time. Kipona is the city’s longest standing street festival. The name comes from the Native American, meaning “sparkling waters.”
The weekend-long festivities include everything from the chili cookoff to a canoe race, arts and crafts, rides – even live music. But everyone’s really in it for the classic, old-time fair food – turkey legs, pulled pork sandwiches, funnel cakes, fresh-squeezed lemonade and so much more.
The festival is free and family friendly. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, noon to 9 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday. Click here for the list of events and activities.
